The CKP sensor is located at the liming bell crankshaft sprocket. For 2003 and earlier models, begin by raising the front of the vehicle and securing it on jackstands, then remove the engine cover. Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector, which is situated behind the right end of the engine, above the liming bell tensioner. Next, remove the timing belt covers, followed by the CKP sensor mounting bolt to detach the sensor from the engine. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2004 and later models, raise the front of the vehicle and secure it on jackstands, then remove the engine cover. Proceed to remove the crankshaft pulley and the upper and lower timing belt covers. Remove the two nuts securing the shield for the CKP sensor wiring harness, then take off the shield and the CKP sensor. Detach the CKP sensor from the engine block by removing the sensor mounting bolt, pulling off the sensor, and disconnecting the electrical connector. Installation is the reverse of removal.
