For installation, remove the old gasket and clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and valve cover with a rag soaked in lacquer thinner or acetone. Apply beads of RTV sealant to the corners where the cylinder head meets the rocker arm assembly, allowing the sealant to set for about five minutes until slightly hardened, especially in damp or cold conditions. Install a new molded rubber gasket into the groove around the valve cover perimeter, lubricate the sealing grommets with soapy water, and tighten the bolts in the recommended sequence to the specified torque. Finally, complete the installation by reversing the removal steps, ensuring the rubber spark plug seals are in place before reconnecting the spark plug wires.
