Installation is the reverse of removal. Before tightening the shock absorber lower mounting bolt, raise the rear of the trailing arm with the floor jack to simulate normal ride height and be sure to tighten all fasteners.

A:
Start by loosening the wheel lug nuts, raising the vehicle, and securing it with jackstands. Remove the wheel. Then, unbolt the brake hose from the shock absorber assembly and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the lower control arm. Position a floor jack beneath the lower control arm to provide support during shock absorber removal. Proceed to remove the damper fork pinch bolt and the damper fork-to-lower control arm bolt, detaching the fork from the shock absorber. Support the shock absorber and coil spring assembly, and take off the two upper mounting nuts, ensuring not to remove the larger center nut. Carefully remove the unit from the fenderwell.
