To check the cruise control on/off switch, it must first be removed, and then continuity should be checked between each of the indicated switch terminals using an ohmmeter or self-powered test lamp with the switch in each position; if continuity is not as specified, the switch should be replaced. For replacement, pry the switch out of the dash and disconnect its electrical connector, then install the new switch in reverse order. For the rear defogger switch on Civic and Integra models, remove the switch from the instrument panel; if the defogger does not operate, check for battery voltage at the terminals and inspect the wiring harness and fuse. If battery voltage is present but the defogger does not work, replace the switch or check the defogger relay and related circuit. On CR-V models, the switch is part of the heater and air conditioning control assembly, which should be removed to test the switch functionality.
