Acura Integra Door Lock offers a secure and easy-to-access door by keeping every door sealed until the driver decides to release it. The first Door Lock setup had a keyed cylinder and interior knob that was connected by rods to a latch. Someone turning the key or pushing on the knob stopped the exterior handle from working and would not allow entry. As the Integra line progressed, the Door Lock took on electric actuators so that a finger tap to a cabin switch or master driver switch could command all the latches simultaneously. Throughout Acura Integra history, improvements came quickly. Remote keyless entry soon followed, with the fob's coded radio pulse reaching an onboard receiver that orders the Door Lock to lock or unlock, often with a confirming horn chirp. Recent generations have added automatic functions, closing the locks when Drive is selected or speed is increased, and opening them in Park to increase safety for all Acura riders. Although designs evolved, each version of Door Lock across Acura Integra years has the same mission in mind, which is to prevent theft and keep the occupants safe while the car is moving and when it rests.

- Q: How often should the Door Hinge, Door Latch Assembly, Door Lock, Hood Hinge, Hood Latch, Liftgate Hinge and Trunk Latch be lubricated on Acura Integra?A:Every 3000 or 300,000 miles (whichever happens first) or once every three months, oil or lock lubricant should be applied as a few drops to the hinges and latch assemblies on the doors, Hood, and trunk (or liftgate). Also, door latch strikers should be lubricated with a very thin coat of grease to minimize wear, so door latch strikers move freely. Spray the door and trunk (or liftgate) locks with spray on graphite lubricant.
