Remove the steering column cover and trace the wire harness for the ignition switch/key lock cylinder assembly to the fuse box, then unplug the connector from the fuse box. Check the connector for continuity with the key in each position. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch by placing the key in the Off (Lock) position, removing the two screws, and lifting the switch off the steering column, ensuring the recess in the new switch aligns with the projection on the lock during installation. Afterward, check the lock cylinder in each position to ensure it isn't worn or loose and that the key position corresponds to the markings on the housing, replacing the lock cylinder if it's worn or damaged. For Legend models, remove the ignition key light, then with the key in the Accessory position, insert a pin or thin tool into the recess, depress the pin while pulling the lock cylinder out of the housing. When installing, turn the key to the Lock position and align the lock cylinder with the housing, turning the key almost to the Lock position, inserting the lock cylinder until the pin touches the housing, then turning the key all the way to Lock while pushing in and inserting the lock cylinder until it clicks. Finally, install the steering column cover.
